Full sun. 36 to 60 inches.  As an ornamental and food plant quinoa is an old grain with new appeal for gardeners.  Early in the season the young leaves can be used like spinach.  As the plant matures it develops upright mop-like seeds heads. The seeds of quinoa are colorful! If you enjoy the look  amaranth brings to your borders most likely you will appreciate quinoa.  The seeds of quinoa are highly nutritious and have a pleasant nutty taste. Quinoa requires a well drained soil.
