Full sun. Height 3″. Thomas Edison is worth the wait for this later-season bloomer. The luscious 8″ blossoms of this dinner plate dahlia are a deep royal purple (we have been unsuccessful at capturing an accurate picture of its true color). The form and color of Thomas Edison makes it one of our favorite flowers on the farm.
Full sun. Height 32 to 36 inches. This seed grown dahlia will provide ample blossoms for cutting along with providing a lovely shade of pastel color in your border. We can’t determine what color a seed grown dahlia will be until it opens. So, buy them green for a happy surprise or wait until the plant’s first bud opens before you buy.
Full Sun. Up to 6 feet. The color array of this dahlia is primarily white, light pink and magenta, less frequent in the mix are yellow, purple and orange. Though not as showy as our other dahlias, its simple single petal construction and open habit of the plant as well as its height makes it a worthy of a place in many gardens.
Full sun. Height 4 to 6 feet. Black Knight is a knock out. The dark bee of the deep blue blossom adds to the depth of color. Delphiniums require well drained soil. The crown of the plant should be planted high so as to avoid rot in wet soil conditions. Black Knight will require staking to avoid flower spike breakage.
Sun. Height 30 to 40″. Started in the spring Guardian will flower late summer in its first year. This is a hybrid variety has sturdy stem and an upright growth form. Guardian colors are in the white, lavender and deep blue range. Guardian is a great choice for cutting.
Full sun. Height to 22 inches. Jenny Pearl is a versatile delphinium. Jenny Pearl Pink is blush pink. Shorter with more branching than the old-fashioned, statuesque delphiniums, it can be used in containers as well as in the border. It puts out many flower spikes so it functions well as a cut flower plant too.
Sun. 24 to 30 inches. Dianthus, aka border carnation, Chabaud Benigna are creamy white petals with a rose picotee. Bloom time begins in late July. An old fashioned beauty for the border and for cutting. This plant likes a rich, sandy, slightly alkaline soil.

Sun. 24 to 30 inches. If creamsicle orange flecked with tangerine is one of your color preferences, this fragrant, old-fashioned border carnation is for you. Blooms start to appear in late July. A superb addition to your cut flower beds. Plant in fertile, sandy slightly alkaline soil.
