Verbascum Southern Charm (P)

Sun.  Height to 30 inches.  Verbascum Southern Charm, an early summer bloomer that will rebloom when the heat of summer subsides, has a color palate of dreamy shades of peach, rose and yellow and a pronounced bee.  Its spiky habit and bee makes it reminiscent of delphiniums.  Southern Charm is draught tolerant.  

Verbena Bampton

Sun. 2 feet. Named for the town of Bampton, England where it was discovered this verbena, when grown in a mass, provides a gauzy see-through texture. Its deep purple glossy stems holds clouds of  small lavender-pink flowers at the tips, freely blooming summer and fall. Try it is large containers or in the border.

 

Verbena Blue Lagoon

Full sun. 12 inches.  Blue lagoon is as close to true blue as we’ve seen in a verbena.  The flowers have no white in them, they are evenly “blue” through and through. Blue Lagoon releases a lovely fragrance.  Excellent choice for borders and containers.

Verbena BonariensisFull sun. 3 to 4 feet. Small clusters of lavender flowers are borne on tall, lithe stems.  Looks great whether its mixed with grasses and wildflowers or in a more formal arrangement with oriental lilies.  Use as a cut flower too.
